THE CONFLUENCE
An annual gathering to celebrate & shape Milwaukee's water future.

EVENT UPDATE  In light of COVID-19, we are currently working on alternatives for The Confluence.

Public health and safety are our top priorities.  Because this event relies heavily on gathering in close proximity, we will find safer ways to celebrate and connect around our shared waters this year.

We hosted our 3rd Confluence celebration on May 16th, 2019 at The Cooperage.  On top of great food and live music, we had some powerful conversations about how to build a truly sustainable environmental movement in Milwaukee and transform our current system into one that includes all of our voices.  The program included:

  • Live music provided by the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra Jazz Ensemble and the Pangea Duo

  • Call to the Water & Libations by Jahmes Finlayson

  • State of Water address by our Co-Executive Directors, Brenda Coley and Kirsten Shead

  • An interactive panel discussion with Indigenous Women and Women of Color discussing some of Milwaukee's most pressing water issues

  • Transforming a System: an interactive display created by our artist-in-residence, Melanie Ariens.
